- ion-plasma modification of the surface of solids
- cathodic arc plasma deposition and magnetron sputter deposition of the protective coatings based on the multicomponent and multilayered transition metal nitrides
- study of the physical and mechanical properties of the protective coatings
- instruments and methods for measuring components of the geomagnetic field
